Do you have a caring, hard working personality? Are you looking to support and care for adults with Dementia? Support Worker required in Newbury to help adults with severe and complex needs relating to Dementia. Flexible hours are available varying from part-time to full-time, with a salary of £7.60-£10.00 per hour. This is a chance to join a dynamic team with the opportunity to work anywhere between 10 and 60 hours, working a variety of shifts from: Long days, Earlies, Lates, Waking nights or Sleeps.

Job Purpose -



* Help support people with severe and complex needs relating to Dementia lead a life of fulfilment and encourage their independence.
* Encouraging and supporting people to get involved with daily activities alongside an experienced activities coordinator.
* Working within a dynamic team caring for those who are less able to get involved in activities, keeping them engaged and included.
* Building bonds with them to ensure ongoing, personal quality of care
* To grow as a support worker working alongside a fantastic team.

Knowledge of -



* Dementia
* Challenging behaviour
* Safeguarding
* Health and safety
* Awareness of special complex needs
* Relevant statutory legislation
* Commitment to equal opportunities

Experience -



* Experience working with activities based support or rehabilitation
* Working needs such as advanced Dementia
* Previous experience with challenging behaviour
* Working within a residential setting
* This job requires a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (If you do not have a DBS on the update service one can be provided for you)
* Drivers preferred but not required
