SummaryJob Title: Production Operative, Colorcoat Urban, TATA SteelLocation: ShottonHourly Rate: £10.24Contract Hours: 37.5 per week (8.30 to 4.45 Mon to Thurs, 8.30 to 3.45 Fri)Holidays: 35 days - inclusive of bank holidays The RoleTo carry out this role successfully, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:Operate processing machinery and material handling equipment in a safe and productive manner and to good standards of workmanship in order to deliver the required levels of customer service.Recognise relevant product ranges to facilitate prompt and accurate material selection and processing.Understand and implement maintenance activities to facilitate optimum productivity.Understand and deploy continuous improvement and problem solving techniques to optimise machine availability.Understand, deploy and seek to recommend improvements to production control procedures to support team performance objectives.Handle all material including checking stock records, labelling and storing according to commercial requirements and Corus Panels and Profiles policy.Impart knowledge of processes and activities to others in a structured and formal manner to support the team's operational and development objectives.Ensure that own and team operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in manner which fully complies with Colorsteels health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.Where required, contribute to team level annual operational and financial budgets that secure the resources necessary to achieve agreed work programmes.Ensure the organisation of stocks, and appropriate records, to maintain optimum productivity and safety.Play a full role within the team and the context of the site to facilitate optimal performance. Requirements / Personal Specification The business is looking for specific skills in the following areas; Press Operatives who are fully trained and familiar in working within a fabrications environmentProduction which involves experience of leading a multi-staged production processLoading and Material Control Team - Experience of the operation of heavy mobile plant within an industrial environment.In addition to the above skilled roles, we also require "production assistants" to enable the operations to function effectively.In general terms, we are ideally looking for people from a similar (steel processing) background. The ability to demonstrate qualities of flexibility, an ability to adapt, initiative, drive and commitment.The ability to work safely under pressure and to tight timescalesGood all round education with strong numeracy, literacy, IT skills, with strong mechanical aptitude and spatial intelligence.
