The aim of the school is to help the individuals access and progress with their independence. The school provides a fantastic holistic approach to education encompassing teaching and learning with a therapy input. The school would like to find candidates that are willing to make a difference and can engage learners across the curriculum. The ideal individual will also be able to support learners with pastoral needs.

This specialised school is a non-maintained residential special school located in Crawley, designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs for boys (age 6-13 years). The children have a range of special needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

We are seeking an individual to support students to learn in a safe, stimulating, therapeutic environment and to make outstanding progress academically, socially and emotionally.

In this role as a Teaching Assistant you will:
> Support students with educational and pastoral needs.
> Using your interests to engage learners in learning.
> Supporting learners within small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
> Supporting learning in literacy and numeracy.
> Track progress and highlight areas of development.
> Develop students' communication skills.
> Be part of the creative and exciting learning environment.

The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:
> Be able to work with learners that have learning difficulties.
> Have an understanding of the complex learning difficulties and associated conditions.
> Be confident to support groups of students in different educational subjects.
> The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
