A lovely SEN Secondary School in Bradford is looking to appoint a new SEN supply teacher. The school is in need of an experienced SEN teacher who is able to come in on a regular basis to cover staff sickness and holiday. They would like a regular supply teacher that they can call upon when they need cover. The successful applicant will be flexible and adaptable as they will need to cover in a variety of different classes as and when the need arises. There is no time commitment, and the work will be optional (you would be one of their go-to supply teachers) but they need staff that are able to build relationships with the children so that there is no disruption when they come in to cover.

Working with SEN students is a rewarding career in which you will teach, guide and support students who may find everyday tasks challenging. The successful applicant will be required to teach children with complex needs, leading the class and planning their days to effectively engage the children with their work and learning.

The role will include:
To plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons
Assist children in class to make sure they are on track
Liaise with support staff to ensure the smooth running of the class
To support the general well-being of the students
To monitor and evaluate learners learning
Enable learners to access the curriculum through a variety of techniques
Fully utilise Teaching Assistant with the classroom to support aspects of teaching and behaviour management

Qualified teacher status essential
To be able to work with learners with various learning difficulties
A desire to encourage children to succeed
A caring, patient and calm personality
Have an understanding of children with special needs
Be flexible in approach to education
Previous experience teaching in a SEN setting
