A specialised school situated in the Hassocks area is looking for an SEN teaching assistant who can join their thriving setting and make a difference to their learners.

This specialised school is a non-maintained special school designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs for children (age 7- 19 years).
All the learners are on the Autistic spectrum which means they may exhibit a range of difficulties and also strengths.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting a small of group learners educationally and pastorally
* Encourage learners to be independent
* Comfortable with, and confident to, work directly with students
* Positive and compassionate attitude towards learners

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:
* To provide teaching assistance to the teacher
* To provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
* To work individually with learners/students to develop work.
* To support the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
* To monitor and evaluate learners' learning under the guidance of the teacher
