This new, specialised SEN school is looking for a full-time teaching assistant who is compassionate and enjoys working with SEN children. You would be joining a very supportive team whose aim is to provide the best educational, care and transition pathways for children and young people from ages 6 - 16 years who experience difficulties with learning and communication because of special or complex educational needs. The school is situated in the East Horsley area.

Your role as an SEN teaching assistant will be:
* To provide teaching assistance to the teacher, defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning
* To deliver group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
* To work individually with students to develop work
* To support the general wellbeing of learners within the structure of the school
* To monitor and evaluate students' learning under the guidance of the teacher
* To assist teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
* To support all learners in all curriculum areas


Key skills and experience needed:
* The ability to work with learners that have various learning difficulties
* An understanding of students with special needs
* Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
* Confidence in supporting group work in different educational subjects
* The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
* Flexibility in your approach to education.
* Experience working in SEND settings
* Experience working with children (essential)
