Position: Senior Design Manager
Location: Watford
Package: Up to £75,000 + package

Are you a Senior Design Manager looking for a new, exciting opportunity? Would you like to manage a team with a renowned main contractor on a commercial project?

My client is looking for a Senior Design Manager to join their team on a project in Watford. This project is currently at pre construction phases and the candidate will be require to work from the head office until the project starts on site. The build value of this project is approximately £70M.

The successful candidate would be offered a competitive package and career opportunities to manage larger teams and be exposure to high value/quality projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:



* Report to the Regional Design Manager/ Project Manager
* Managing a team of people on the project
* Check all drawings and details for accuracy and correctness
* Liaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met.
* Attend site visits and meetings in order to solve issues that arise during the constructions process.
* Ensure that new regulation and legislation requirements are followed
* Ability to recognise potential issues and implement strategies or overcome them
* Ensures company standard of service and delivers on time
* Advise on the first stage of build design and coordinate works through to handover to the delivery teams
* Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, consultants and contractors
* Hold and attend management meetings

Requirements:



* Strong experience working with a main contractor (experience with developers will be taken into consideration) for a substantial amount of time
* Previous experience of working on commercial projects
* Have a strong technical background and understanding of construction and all related disciplines that are involved
* Confident with excellent communication skills
* Effective management of the team and other contractors
* Be able to work from site on a full time basis
