Inclusion manager / learning mentor - are you able to work with challenging young people?

We have an urgent need of people with Inclusion experience to work with KS 3 and 4

This is an excellent opportunity for people with the right qualification and experience. This is an ideal position for an NQT who is looking for their first role in School.

Accountability's/Responsibilities - appropriate for this post:



1 To manage the day to day running of the isolation ensuring that pupils are effectively supervised and that high standards of behaviour are achieved.
2 Ensure pupils are aware of the procedures and expectations whilst isolated and when necessary reinforce the reasons for the sanction.
3 Communicate to staff the daily isolation register and request work. Ensuring all work is effectively distributed to pupils and then returned to staff pigeon holes at the end of each day.
4 To inform the DSS of any issues with work provided, either in quality or quantity. Within the isolation unit to maintain the 'bank' of generic work to be used in emergency situations.
5 To provide guidance to pupils in relation to work set.
6 Maintain a calm and positive environment in which pupils can learn and which is conducive to good behaviour.
7 Maintain appropriate standards of behaviour in the room in accordance with school policy.
8 To manage the upkeep of the room including signage and ensure the room is effectively resourced, stocked and maintained. Challenge any signs of damage or vandalism.
9 Liaise with DSS, Pastoral Managers, Head of Upper School, Head of Lower School and Heads of Year in regards to isolation.
10 Maintain appropriate records and data on isolation/pride usage and create reports for SLT/Governor.
11 To have overall responsibility for the administration of the new behaviour system, to including informing the DSS when triggers are reached, phone calls to parents, texting to parents. Producing letters to home and reports for the pastoral team/SLT/Governors.
12 To run the homework detention club after school.

Individuals in this role may also:



1 Supporting the safeguarding team in ensuring all children remain safe inside school.
2 Support on home visits
3 Supervise pupils excluded from class or those following alternative timetables
4 Contribute to the development of activities to encourage family involvement in the school.
5 Support pupil management strategies and policies of the school and undertake additional duties i.e. on call system, student mentoring (behaviour & attendance).
