This primary school is looking for a committed and experienced teaching assistant to work with a KS2 autistic learner that requires additional support in a mainstream setting. You will be responsible for working 1:1 with this child, as well as in a small group and whole class settings. The school is looking for someone that is dedicated and enthusiastic towards this role and the learner. A successful candidate will need to have previous experience working in a similar role.

This is to start after half term on Monday the 4th of June until the end of July, with the contract being extended to start again from September if you are successful in the role.

Working 1:1 with an SEN learner
Running intervention programmes for small groups or individual children
Some assessments and evaluations on progress levels of learners
Supporting with classroom management, also setting up activities, preparing resources, and helping children on an individual basis
Managing behaviour in all lessons and around school

All applicants for this position must have the following requirements to be considered:
Relevant child care experience
SEN experience (ideally supported autistic children before)
Be able to provide a child care reference
Relevant knowledge of the current national curriculum
Previous experience working with children with special needs or behaviour issues may be useful
Own transport could be an advantage due to the location
Eligibility to work in the UK
