job description

Can you be the additional support that a student requires in order to succeed?

We are currently recruiting teaching assistants for an educational trust within in the Southend-On-Sea area. This role will enable the right candidate to use their knowledge of sports to assist students in their chosen field, but to also enable the candidate to use their knowledge of other subjects to better support students.

This role is learning with a difference as it is not the typical classroom based role, there can be an element of getting out there and participating in the activities and this will afford a much better understanding of how each student works in terms of team building and building relationships with others.

The ages and abilities of each student will be mixed, so the programme will be devised to suit those needs and the requirements of the liaising schools in and around the area.

Benefits of the trust:
* The ability to work with young people that range across the ages in settings that support the learning of sports
* Allows you to build a relationship with schools within the reach of the trust

Benefits working with Randstad:
* An out of hours service 24/7
* Dedicated consultant with an educational background
* Flexible working patterns
* A dedicated team who will help you on your journey

Your responsibilities will include:
* To build a rapport with young people to enable learning to take place
* To have an understanding of complex issues that could relate to the young people that you'll support
* A willingness to learn and think of the box to support the young people

An ideal candidate would possess the following capabilities and competencies:
* Have a Level 2 qualification in Learning Support
* Be able to adapt to behaviours and situations
* Have a 'can do' attitude and a willingness to take part

If you are interested in supporting young people to get a second chance at education, please send your CV and covering letter to stephanie.parsons@randstadeducation.co.uk or call 01293 527416.

Furthermore, we have an array of positions in Essex which may also be of interest to you.

Any successful candidates will be subject to the compliance process that also includes the enhanced DBS check.
