job description

We are currently recruiting for a number of waking night support workers to work within a residential service for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and complex needs. The service has recently been granted "outstanding" by Ofsted which is a result of the passion and dedication the staff team bring to their roles every single day. The service is made up of several residential units linked with a nearby specialist school which is situated next to the beautiful Astley park where the peaceful surroundings help support a therapeutic environment where the children can focus on their education. Locations of the residential homes include Haighton, Chorley, Leyland and Preston.

As a waking night support worker you will be based within the residential homes. You will be a key member of the team, providing high standards of person centred support throughout the night. You will work to build therapeutic relationships with the young people you support as you will be the main point of contact on shift during evening hours.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Supporting the young persons with evening/morning routines and ensuring the home is a safe and secure environment.

* Monitoring the young persons throughout the night and completing necessary document checks to be able to handover to day staff.

The service offers very competitive pay rates as well as a rolling rota system indicating your shift patterns for the following 12 weeks. A typical night shift would be 21:45 - 07:45. Part time opportunities are also available.

Due to the fact that this role will involve working independently, we require that applicants have at least 6 months experience in a support worker capacity. If you have experience as a waking night support worker this would be advantageous. The service prides itself on delivering consistently high levels of person centred support, achieved through a genuinely passionate and engaged workforce. If you have a passionate about working with young people and you want to make a difference to their lives then please apply now, we would love to hear from you.
