job description

Do you find yourself still looking for that perfect teaching role now the new academic year has begun?

Are you seeking a long term teaching assignment within KS2 immediately?

If so, then we have two opportunities within the London Borough of Redbridge that we would like to speak to you about.

An over subscribed, very welcoming Primary school is seeking to appoint both a full time Year 4 and Year 5 teacher on a long term supply basis, positions that begin immediately.

These posts are ongoing and the opportunity exists for them to become permanent positions, should the successful applicant and the school come to an agreement after a successful supply teaching period.

Applications are welcome from both new and experienced teachers.

Benefits of the role are:

* The opportunity to consider a permanent role without the pressure of making a hasty decision
* Working in a school that focuses on raising self-esteem among its pupils
* The opportunity to 'make a difference' immediately
* Being part of a school community where a healthy respect exists between staff and children, as well as a sense of teamwork and integrity
* The chance to exchange ideas with other teachers, which can lead to new and/or different ways of teaching

Responsibilities of the role include:

* Adhering to the school's Policies and Procedures
* Providing pupils with necessary feedback, encouragement and support
* Meeting with pupils' parents to discuss their academic progress at parents' evenings
* Setting the right example at all times
* Occasionally, you may supervise pupils during events and projects outside of the classroom such as cultural outings, field trips and excursions

Requirements of the candidate:

* You will need to hold UK QTS or be suitably qualified to teach in UK schools
* To possess effective classroom management strategies
* To be open to the possibility of a permanent contract
* Having a DBS already on the Update Service or the willingness to complete a new DBS application
* Ability to communicate effectively with others

Long term supply teachers have the same teaching responsibilities as permanent members of staff. You will prepare lesson plans and teach pupils in accordance with the national curriculum. You will also be responsible for marking students' work and offering constructive criticism.
