job summary:

SUMMARY

The Business Analyst (BA) fosters the creation and support of web-based solutions as part of a team of technical professionals. The BA provides support to management and clients by participating in the delivery of mission-critical web applications. The BA participates in projects from inception to deployment to support utilizing past experiences and proven methodologies to develop and maintain user stories, as well as manage and groom the Product Backlog. BAs also coordinate and assist with quality assurance activities.

responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)

- Work with the Product Owner and other key stakeholders to document the product's vision and scope

- Facilitates communication between all Agile team members to drive out functional and non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, external interfaces and data requirements.

- Develop user epics, features, stories, and tasks in concert with the Product Owner and Agile teammates

- Combines knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the systems are built to write users stories for applications.

- Serve as a liaison between the Business, Architecture, Development and Testing teams throughout the project lifecycle.

- Gather testable system requirements and translate them into use cases and process flows

- Manage, groom, and maintain the Product Backlog in concert with the Product Owner

- Produce user training materials for the product (e.g., user documentation, videos) as agreed upon with stakeholders

- Facilitates user acceptance testing performed by the business and verifies solution's alignment with requirements

- Participate in the Agile ceremonies established by the teams

- Recommend and support adoption of overall enhancements to the organization's Agile epic, feature, and story creation, as well as enhancements to procedures and tools that support these items

- Implement ways to reuse story and story contents across projects

- Control scope creep attributable to missed requirements and leakage of "unofficial" requirements into the project

- Utilize departmental best practices and collaborate in enhancing practices.

 
qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or compensatory work experience

- 4 years of business experience in requirements gathering, analysis, written definition of specifications, functional validations, and application of software management practices

- 4 years of work experience in a cross-functional team environment

- 2 years of experience applying business analysis techniques in a team environment that utilizes common software development life cycle and/or Agile practices

- 2 years of collaboration with software development teams that include user interface specialists, database specialists and/or quality assurance specialists

- Real estate domain knowledge

- Ability to work with limited supervision, showing an ability to make decisions independently or with limited managerial direction
