    Position Summary: The Production Planner performs various production control activities including production order management, shop floor scheduling and monitoring customer orders. Create, combine and manage scheduling from various internal and external reports to support supervisors and drive prioritize on the shop floor.Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate daily production order reviews.Monitor, review and release production and service orders to allow supervisors sufficient time to build and deliver to stock at least one day prior to scheduled ship date.Perform regular material coverage analysis to identify, prevent and resolve any material shortages.Utilize the site ERP/MRP system and various data extracts to provide schedule visibility and priority for production, test and support areas.Monitor production process to ensure that execution is occurring as planned. Drive actions toaddress and resolve aging orders and potential late issues.Continually develop and audit processes within production to streamline ERP transactions, minimize operator confusion, and reduce transaction errors.Analyze reports, measurements and external benchmarks to identify opportunities forcontinuous improvement in manufacturing areas.Create shop floor visibility of orders moving throughout manufacturing.Proactively support supervisors to continuously improve processes and procedures.Lead effort to understand root cause and corrective actions for process failures relating to scheduling, planning and execution.Ensure customer service is informed of any on-time shipment delays to include an explanation for the customer.Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethics codes.Skills:Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment and demonstrated success deploying lean methodologies to improve production efficiency.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong analytical capabilities.
