Environmental Engineer possible temp to hire opportunity with a chemical manufacturing client located approximately 1.5 hours SW of the Chicago, IL area. This position will be responsible for the Title V air permitting, compliance, and auditing. Pay will be based on experience.

Responsibilities for the Environmental Engineer

  • Obtain, coordinate and manage environmental air permitting activities including development and review of applications to regulatory agencies
  • Maintain internal relationships with the engineering staff, shift supervisors, and other operations and maintenance personnel
  • Complete portions of the Title V reports for state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Assist in the development of environmental processes and guidelines and communicate those to plant personnel
  • Other duties as required

Requirements for the Environmental Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering (will consider experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 5 - 10+ years related environmental experience ideally in a chemical or similar manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of state and federal environmental regulations applicable to chemical or similar manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience with permitting including Title V air permitting, compliance, and auditing
