Permanent position: Field Service Engineer located in Denver, CO at a highly regarded full-service electrical engineering and field services company in the power generation, power distribution and controls market. This position is responsible to travel to various sites for installations, system maintenance, or to conduct training on large generation control and protection systems. The ideal candidate must have B.S in Electrical Engineering with generator design and installation experience. Position is a direct hire opportunity and relocation assistance is available. Responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer

  • Requires 50% to 65% travel throughout the US
  • Complete wiring and installation of new excitation and generator protection systems
  • Work with engineering staff to develop installation task lists and designs.
  • Facilitate mobilization, demolition, and installation activities including equipment and tool shipping, scheduling, and supervision of craft labor on site.
  • Assist with maintenance and testing of generator excitation systems, protective relays, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Travel to customer sites to oversee installations of equipment, perform system startup or required maintenance, provide instructions for customer maintenance, or repair equipment.

Requirements for the Field Service Engineer

  • B.S in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of voltage regulators, excitation or generator protection systems.
  • Must have utility/power plant experience
  • Prefer prior experience wiring control panels or protection systems
  • SCADA or HMI experience is a plus
