PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN POSITIONS IN SOMERSET, NJ
1ST SHIFT $18/HR

Responsibilities:
The Production Tech A assembles Teflon?? hoses comprising the entire Flexible Division product line. Frequent complex modifications are made to stock and customer-supplied fittings and special requirements are manufactured to order. The Production Tech A is able to perform all functions under abnormal conditions with assistance. The Production Tech A is able to train other operators on manufacturing techniques and the safe and proper use of equipment. The Production Tech A is able to assess the training levels of other operators.

Working hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Skills:
- Screening of orders for hoses in sizes ranging from 1/8" to 6" inside diameters and a broad range of primarily stainless steel end fittings for accuracy, component compatibility and material availability.
- Selection and verification of components as necessary, inspection for defects, measurement and cutting to strict tolerances and assembly by crimping.
- Verification of orders for accuracy and completeness prior to assembly, cleaning, testing and shipping.
- Modification of fitting to meet specific customer needs and utilization of various hand and power tools. Retrofit activities also include preparation of components to be welded by others.
- Create jigs and fixtures to facilitate production of standard and prototype fittings.
- Consulting and advising sales staff regarding special orders through Team Leader.
- Assist in inventory control substitutions and maintaining currency of tooling and supplies.
- Occasionally assist in performing cleaning, testing and shipping tasks when time is of the essence.
- Set up and operate manual and automatic flaring machines.
- Prepare, operate and maintain salt baths with maximum regard for safety.
- Actively participate in cross training for other Flex Group employees as backup labor when needed.
- Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices.
- Perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor
- Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

Qualifications:
- Broad general familiarity of production processes with swaging and crimping machine expertise.
- Ability to use hand and power tools including various saws, drills and grinders.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform precision measurement using calipers and micrometers.
- Knowledge of shop math including metric conversions.
- Practice highest standards of safety.
- Physically able to cope with constant standing, lifting and carrying of 75 lbs.
- Must maintain demanding scheduling and meet deadlines.
- Practice good housekeeping.
- Computer Literate
