Randstad Professionals is looking for an Underwriter.

responsibilities:

- Process new mortgage loan applications; input new loan data into loan software programs and investor automated underwriting systems.

- Review and analyze credit documentation; compile information and update credit as needed to comply with investor approval requirements; pre-qualify borrowers to specific loan products; prepare loans for underwriting.

- Monitor status of loans in pipeline on regular basis; communicate with originators, borrowers, real estate agents and appraisers.

- Maintain loan submission register; confirm lock-in sheets with secondary market; order flood certificates and process cancelled loan files and refund checks.

- Comply with bank policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and investor guidelines. Prepare and submits closing instructions to attorneys

 
qualifications:

- A minimum of 2 years of current outside sales origination experience, including established contacts/relationships with the purchase market

- Thorough knowledge of all mortgage products and programs

- NMLS License Required under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 ("SAFE Act") *

- Good knowledge of retail product philosophy, policy, underwriting, procedures, documentation and systems

- Experience proactively soliciting new business

- Good analytical skills necessary to evaluate credit requests and determine trends in a given marketplace

- Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

- Proficient in standardized software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
