• Job title: WHS Officer
• Location: Meadows
• Duration: 3 - 6 month contract (opportunity for extension)
• Hourly rate: $45.00-$50.00 hr + super

Key Objectives

• Ensure up to date and complying with the WHS Program and to enforce its use in the business.
• To act as the Return-to-Work officer and ensure that all employees that are injured at work are dealt with in a caring and efficient manner, with the main aim for employees to get back to work as soon as possible.
• To lead the Training Team and to ensure that training is conducted in the business as required. This includes initiating meetings and taking minutes and circulating action points.
• To update, maintain and conduct Inductions for all new employees apart from QA specific Policies and Procedures.
• Complete monthly safety information for the board and management meetings.

Responsibilities and Expectations

• To initiate changes to the WHS Safety Program, to bring this Program to Best Practice for our industry.
• To recommend changes to practices and processes in the business, to ensure that the environment is safe for all employees, visitors and contractors.
• To conduct site walks on a regular basis to ensure no safety issues have arisen.
• To raise any WHS issues with the CEO/GM immediately and to keep Senior Management aware of any WHS issues.
• Responsible for ensuring that contractors are inducted via a short form induction to ensure they are aware of our safety procedures.
• Responsible for reporting any reportable incidents to WorkCover and ensuring that all incidents have incident reports completed and logged into SafeX safety platform.
• Assisting the CEO/HR in the completion of non WHS Policies and Procedures
• To complete a monthly report for CEO and Operations Manager.
• To complete a monthly report for the Production Manager, noting any WHS or training issues and successes for the prior month and, also statistical data for the year (and previous years if available).
• To act as a support to the Production Manager and assist where required.
• To ensure that all WHS procedures comply with the strict Quality standards of the business.
• To Coordinate on-site quarterly on-site quarterly drug and alcohol testing of employees
