“Our most advanced technology, in a magical and revolutionary device.” With these words the iPad was introduced in 2010. I wasn't immediately sold on it. I wondered how you’d write emails and questioned if it wasn’t just a big phone. 10 years later, though, I can’t imagine life without my tablet.

Everybody’s talked a lot about the technologies that have kept us connected during the pandemic. With my favorite gadgets I’ve stayed close to colleagues, friends and family around the world, and even given a few live TV interviews. To be honest, I’ve had more ‘face-to-face’ conversations than ever before.

I know some people worry about the impact of technology. Are we too connected? What about privacy? Are you sure it’s safe to use? Each new technology is what we make of it. I believe in the benefits and opportunity it brings -- both personally and professionally.

At Randstad we’ve seen what technology has meant in 2020. It’s kept us engaged with one another, let us share ideas (like this post) and helped us to work and collaborate across the distances we’ve had to maintain. Like my tablet, it all feels pretty magical and revolutionary to me.
