We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Diesel Engine Integration Technical Lead, also known as an Application and Installation Engineer, within our clients Building & Construction Products Division (BCP). This role is pivotal in delivering vertically integrated power solutions and supporting BCP's global product development teams across a diverse range of equipment types. As a key technical contact, you will oversee the introduction of new and existing power solution products.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Collaborate with BCP and IPSD product/engineering teams to manage and deliver internal combustion engine power system integration projects, adhering to New Product Introduction and Application & Installation processes.
- Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary technical contact for customer queries throughout all NPI stages and manage critical customer issues with clear communication.
- Product Development: Support the gathering of technical requirements through BCP Voice of the Customer initiatives to drive customer-focused product design and development.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building: Foster strong partnerships within the Industrial Power Systems Division and customer teams to enhance collaboration and project outcomes.
- Technical Support: Lead regular meetings on performance, software, hardware issues, and A&I testing. Attend and contribute to internal and customer design and NPI gate reviews.
- Engine Specification: Manage engine specifications throughout the product lifecycle, including handling new engine configuration option requests.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous product improvements by sharing knowledge on machine installations and staying informed about new product development issues to understand and communicate their customer impact.
- Knowledge Sharing: Support knowledge sharing across the wider EPS team to enhance overall team performance.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Degree qualified or equivalent practical experience in an engineering discipline.
- In-depth understanding of engine performance, design, field testing, manufacturing, diesel engines, their after-treatment systems, and/or machine development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, supporting teams, and customers.
- Strong ability to plan, organise, and drive actions through an organisation, demonstrating a structured approach to work tasks and proven capability in developing and delivering plans.
