Shift Details: This is a 24/7 shift role with a shift allowance and opportunities for overtime.
Job Description:
We are seeking an Associate Analytical Technician to support our manufacturing operations by conducting essential laboratory analyses. The successful candidate will prepare samples, perform preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments, use data systems to acquire data, and report results to clients. This role requires established basic laboratory skills to perform a range of routine lab activities using standard operating procedures and analytical/scientific methods.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Train to perform routine analyses under the direction of a senior team member until proficiency is demonstrated.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance of analytical systems.
- Evaluate the validity of data for routine analyses and take appropriate actions.
- Monitor analytical systems and escalate problems as appropriate.
- Document, communicate, and archive analytical results and data.
- Follow EH&S and Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) procedures and practices for work tasks.
- Suggest improvements to lab work processes and tools.
- Escalate non-routine requests to the appropriate team member for follow-up.
Experience:
- Completion of Vocational Education or Upper Secondary Education (e.g., High School Diploma) plus laboratory, manufacturing, or other related experience.
- Post-Upper Secondary Education coursework in chemistry or related coursework is preferred.
Additional Information:
- This part-time shift role averages 20 hours per week.
- The role involves some night and weekend working.
