About the role

Reporting into the Executive Director this is an exciting and senior level role with growth opportunities. This role will be well suited to an experienced public relations professional with demonstrated experience working in a busy creative agency environment. As the Account Director you will be a key player within the business while managing junior staff members.





About our client

Our client are a rapidly expanding public relations and social media agency who work with large well-known brands, not-for-profits and government department to ensure high brand engagement through combining traditional public relations and digital content.





Key responsibilities

  • Managing a small team
  • Research and monitor clients’ business and industries to stay up to date on trends, developments and breaking issues, and counsel clients accordingly
  • Pitching ideas to the team and clients
  • Lead and positively contribute to brainstorms
  • Develop communications strategies and programs
  • Have a strong knowledge of Australian news media and social influencers
  • Develop and cultivate a wide range of relationships across mainstream and specialist media relevant to client base, creating opportunities to expand contacts wherever possible





About you

The ideal candidate will have

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally in an agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Affairs, or Journalism, or other relevant qualification
  • Positive attitude and good cultural fit
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to proactively identify problems and suggest solutions
  • Strong understanding of community engagement/crisis management
  • A positive attitude and great ‘people skills’
  • Ensure pitching is timely, targeted and proactively followed up to achieve agreed KPIs, cultivating a positive client presence
