Randstad are currently recruiting on behalf of multi-national company that sells and markets technology products, consumer electronics, computing and communications devices. This award-winning business is on the lookout for an experienced Account Manager to join them in order to continue developing new business and relationships within the Australian market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Present and sell predetermined company products and services to existing and potential accounts including existing distribution channels.
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of sales, and contacts to be made. Targets and budgets will be predetermined and distributed accordingly.
  • Maintain dialogue and communication to Sales Director to ensure a constant information flow to all sales and marketing areas of the company.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales quotations.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and product knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
  • Identify and resolve client concerns.
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up with CRM software.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  • Develop and implement special sales activities and promotions to help reduce stock to company target levels at all times.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and marketing events.
  • Follow-up for collection of late payments.
  • Delegate field quality issues to relevant internal team members.
  • Arrange field side product demonstrations as well as training.

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of sales, promotion and basic advertising techniques. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree and some sales experience and/or marketing experience.

This position reports to the Sales director and is an autonomous role, the ideal applicant will be self-sufficient and motivated. Work requires significant local travel and may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work. Overseas travel may also be required.
