About the role:

A great opportunity for a seasoned senior finance candidate to join a market leader and fast growing organisation. Although the role is based in Sydney, many of the finance team are based in Adelaide which will require travel to Adelaide on a monthly basis. Having a dual reporting line to the ANZ General Manager and APAC CFO, the Financial Controller ANZ is a significant leadership role, whom besides from being the ANZ Head of Finance, will be responsible for the complete financial management of the business as well as a true business partner to the ANZ Leadership team.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Leading and managing the day to day accounting operations including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting both from a statutory (US GAAP) and management reporting perspective as well as complying with all tax matters.
  • Owning and driving the forecasting, annual budget and long-range strategic planning process.
  • Performing financial analysis and evaluation of business opportunities and activities such as new product launches, ROI, promotion activities and significant marketing investments to ensure consistency with ANZ business strategy.
  • Responsibility for the overall cash management across ANZ, including cashflow forecasting and liaising with Corporate Treasury to ensure adequate cash resources are available to operate the business.
  • Ongoing leadership and management of the Finance team. Mentoring and development of not only the finance talent but continual improvement of processes that have a positive impact on CooperVision customers
  • As the business continues to grow, opportunities for getting involved in local, regional and global projects may be required.

The Successful Applicant

Interpersonally, you are an ambitious, self-starter who is continually looking for personal and professional development. You work well in a collaborative environment and are comfortable within a matrix management style organisation.

  • Hold a professional accounting qualification (CA / CPA / ACCA preferred).
  • Have strong technical and commercial accounting experience and sound knowledge of working for a multinational organisation – US GAAP and SOX experience preferred.
  • Ideally coming from a FMCG, medical devices or a channel based business.
  • Demonstrates business partnering experience with a focus on building strong working relationships with commercial and operations teams to make sound business decisions.
  • Is a natural leader with a track record of leading high performing finance team/s across multiple locations.
  • You are an articulate communicator who is proven effective at influencing executive level stakeholders and peers alike
