Randstad is seeking a resourceful and motivated Assistant Accountant to Join an organisation going through an exciting period of growth! If you have a keen eye for detail and are looking to draw on your experience in a similar role, we would like to hear from you.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Multiple Bank Reconciliations
  • Journal entries
  • Monthly petty cash reconciliations
  • Trial balance reporting
  • Fixed asset management and depreciation
  • Payrol tax calculation
  • GL allocation and approval of expenses relating to budgets
  • Providing relevant commentary/feedback to operational staff
  • Cashflow Forecasting
  • Compliance activities
  • End of month - reconciliations, journals, sales, fixed assets
  • End of month Management Reporting
  • Maintaining and updating client information

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and competencies

  • Strong reconciliations skills
  • Strong experience in monthly reporting
  • Be an effective listener with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in working within a team environment and supporting team members to achieve individual and joint targets
  • System savvy and be able to work in a changing environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise urgent work
  • Tertiary qualification in an accounting discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles and practices
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A self directed professional who plans, prepares & executes
  • Able to influence and engage stakeholders
