An exciting and essential role is available for an experienced Assistant Project Manager who will be responsible for the successful management and delivery of nominated Building Activity projects at Adelaide and Parafield Airports. The role will be responsible for providing technical advice and identifying risk areas of building activity applications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Efficient management and delivery of assigned building activities to achieve quality assurance, compliance, program/scheduling and budget outcomes;
  • Ensure all building works comply with Airports Act and AAL requirements;
  • Oversight of contractor activities and service delivery in line with building activity scope of work, specifications and priorities;
  • Management of contractor insurance information/requirements, licenses, Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) for high risk activities and WHS plans;
  • Management of relevant Building Activity consent, permits and inductions prior to the commencement of works and liaise with Airport Building Controller as required;
  • Coordination of resources & ensuring timely, relevant and efficient communication with applicants and contractors to ensure completion of approved works;
  • Ensure general compliance with building activity conditions of approval, in particular Construction Environment Management Plan, Works plans for airside, traffic management plans and compliance with the WHS Act
  • Ensure compliance with airport operational and safety requirements;
  • Internal and external stakeholder management to ensure AAL objectives and priorities are defined and delivered

The successful applicant will require:

  • Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Building Technology discipline
  • Drivers Licence
  • Project Management qualifications – Desirable
  • Experience within the Commercial building / logistics / maintenance industry; including
  • Managing multiple projects in an operating environment and managing high risk activities
  • Technical skills ie Engineering, mechanical, electrical, communication infrastructure
  • Interpretation of service drawings (Electricity, Water, Gas); Managing budgeting and coordination of projects; Programming of projects; Managing contractors and stakeholders; Interpretation and application of regulations and standards; Application of standards to building development; Project reporting
