Randstad is currently working in partnership with a South Australian based Automation and Process Control business to recruit an Electrical Automation and Control Engineer. The business specializes in the design, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical control systems. This role will commence a full-time; located in Cheltenham.

The role will entail software programming, as well as all areas of design, installation, modification, commissioning, maintenance and contractor management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the effective planning and coordination of project design, fabrication and installation activities
  • Maintain company standards and ITP’s through your work by learning and creating.
  • Preparation of electrical designs for small and medium-sized control panels – relay logic and PLC/HMI based.
  • Prepare Functional and Process Descriptions from PIDs
  • Review/check electrical & automation aspects of project engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Site testing, commissioning, fault finding.
  • Attend planning meetings with key project staff prior to and as necessary during the course of all major projects
  • Liaise with key stakeholders as directed by the Senior Project Engineer, such as sub-contractors, as required on fabrication priority requirements

Skills and Experiences:

  • MUST reside and hold full working rights in Australia.
  • Must be a qualified Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • PLC Ladder Logic, FBD and touchscreen code in multiple brands of hardware
  • SCADA and HMI experience
  • Knowledge of SA Water’s standards – Desirable
  • Demonstrate a highly disciplined level of professionalism, ethics and accuracy.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project
