Commercial Manager (Construction, Water, Infrastructure), Melbourne (Victoria), $230,000 – $260,000 total package

  • Are you an experience Commercial Manager/ Senior Contracts Administrator with experience working for a construction/ infrastructure contractor?
  • Do you have expert knowledge of pre-contract commercial management in a design and construct (D&C) environment?
  • Do you have a solid grasp of commercial risk profiling and mitigation for construction projects?

    Randstad has a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a major player in the infrastructure space. The organisation is a large player in the industry and they are involved in a variety of projects across a number of business lines, such as; energy projects, water infrastructure projects (O&M and D&C), electrical substations, telecoms, etc.

    Role

    This person will play a key role in the successful bidding and tendering of major projects in the tens of millions of dollars, as well as providing guidance during post-contract delivery. Interfacing with the bid Managers, Project Managers, Estimators, Exec GMs, and lawyers, this person will draw on their vast commercial knowledge pertaining to pre-contract methodologies. This person will help to produce commercially robust tender documents, and have a solid grasp of the contract conditions, project requirements, pricing schedules, contract risks, and procedures to manage risks.

    To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following experience
  • Previous experience working for a contractor working on large infrastructure construction projects.
  • Experience working on Design & Construct projects.
  • Successful track record of running projects successfully from a commercial standpoint.
  • Also have excellent knowledge of pre-contract work.
  • Creating and then communicating risk profiles to key stakeholders.
  • Track record of working to tight deadlines in a team environment.
  • Risk profiling is a key knowledge area/ core competence required.

  • Ideally degree qualified.
