job description

  • Maintain water storage and other structures, assets and surrounds
  • Use and maintain all relevant tools, materials, plant, equipment and vehicles appropriately
  • Assist with land management of surrounding properties in accordance with guidelines including cultural heritage
  • Work on cultural heritage programs as directed
  • Collect and provide accurate data and conduct regular infrastructure inspections and reporting
  • Take part in civil construction and other projects as directed maintaining a high standard
  • Be aware of and apply roles and responsibility in accordance with WHS Roles and Responsibilities Procedure
  • Take responsibility for the safety and well being of yourself and others including your own fitness
  • Complete specific tasks allocated
  • Effectively collaborate to ensure team goals are achieved by providing input into decision making and problem solving
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with other agencies, landholders and customers
  • Maintain liaison with adjacent landowners and abide by their permission to enter private property requirements where applicable
  • Comply with Environmental policies and procedures
  • Have an understanding and respect for the cultural heritage significance of the area and work within the related permits and conditions
  • Compliance with WHS policies, regulations and work procedures to ensure KPI indicators are achieved
  • Compliance of Cultural Landscape Plan of Management
  • Utilise and comply with all relevant electronic/paper systems, processes and procedures in timely manner

Hold all required tickets

Have proven experience in the operation and maintenance of various plant and machinery including trucks, backhoe, front end loaders, mowers, chainsaws, brush cutters, motor boats, power tools and hand tools

Have the ability to live and work as part of a team in a remote location under limited supervision

Be able to identify problems and report to Team Leader or Coordinator

Be able to communicate effectively and complete routine paper work

Have basic computer skills

Have an understanding of civil construction

Be willing to work with respect in an environment of mixed cultures

Have knowledge and understanding of WHS regulations and the need for them
