About the Company

My client is one of Australia’s most successful and experienced Retail builders that have built a reputation by delivering challenge projects ahead of time and under budget. With the Retail sector booming the company has decided to set up a specialist non EBA division to focus on smaller boutique projects valued below $20m. The division has already delivered a number of high profile projects and are looking to grow headcount. This is a unique role to join a company focused on smaller projects but with proven Tier 2 processes and systems.

About the Role

Working hand in hand with the Project Management team you will act as a CA on high profile retail projects.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • In conjunction with relevant site Project Managers, carry out and manage the project’s financial activities.
  • Carry out all Head Contract and Subcontract commercial administration activities for the project.
  • Review all tender documents, contractual conditions and report on items of commercial or risk significance with recommendations for action.
  • Review and assist with set up of project budgets, based on budget details provided by Estimating Manager.

Skills and Experience

The right candidate will be a proven Contract Administrator with at least 4 years experience. You must also have previous experience working on a similar sized projects and you must be tertiary qualified.

Other core skills will include:

  • Track record in the Construction industry with demonstrated ability to read plans
  • Experience with quantity surveying or estimating
  • Understanding of contracts and of fundamental legal issues around contracts
  • Knowledge of tender processes
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to operate independently and use of initiative
