Company Profile for the Contracts Administrator role

From minor works, to refurbishments, new builds and major extensions, this company is structured to provide a safe, professional and cost effective solution across the breadth of Retail construction. Typical project sizes range from $100,000 to $200M+ and durations from a few weeks to two years.

This is Australia’s most experienced retail builder and they have offices in both Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and can operate Australia wide.

Responsibilities of the Contracts Administrator

As the Contracts Administrator you will be responsible for;

  • Ensure financial / contractual systems are established at site start-up
  • Contribute to the development of scopes
  • Tracking of the project programme.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and all appropriate consultants
  • Ensure that contract requirements are being met
  • Attend to general head contract and subcontract correspondence
  • Assist in planning and scheduling of various works
  • Ensure that project forecasts and cash flow statements are maintained
  • Assist in the accurate submission of progress, variation & contractual claims
  • Ensure that subcontractor payments and variation claims are processed
  • Assist to ensure monthly financial reporting requirements are met
  • Assist to ensure project specific reporting requirements are met
  • Co-ordinate monthly reporting with head office based commercial staff
  • Work with colleagues to determine the most cost effective way to let packages
  • Understanding of all aspects of the contract and determine key areas of financial risk
  • Ensure compliance with the WHSEQ Policies and Procedures.

Skills and experience of the Contracts Administrator

  • 2+ years experience as a CA
  • Past delivery of projects at $20million +
  • Experience in maintaining head & subcontract relationships
  • Ability to interpret and apply contract documentation
  • Ability to assist in the negotiation of financial terms with subcontractors
  • Analytical skills
  • Experience with Cheops would be advantageous
  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You must be a team player
  • Ambitious and interested in company growth
