A Desktop Support Technician is currently required for a permanent assignment to provide quality desktop support and to ensure a positive customer experience. The successful candidate will maintain the desktop support environment as well as identify and deliver on operational improvements.

Role Purpose:

  • Provide support to all users by troubleshooting, resolving and escalating client support issues in an effective and timely manner.
  • Manage telephone and email support queues and prioritise support requests.
  • Work with a variety of clients both remotely and onsite.
  • Building relationships with clients.
  • Complete project work as necessary.
  • Investigate and recommend operational improvements in the area of desktop support

Skills, knowledge and experience:

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of LAN, PC hardware, printers and peripheral devices, Microsoft products and Office Suite
  • A strong working knowledge covering the best practices for user account creation/management and folder/application permissions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, initiative and commitment to continuous improvement by challenging the assumed normal practices and a desire to keep knowledge current.
  • Ability to work as a team member with a strong focus on outcomes that ensure best results for the business.
  • Experience working with outsourced / contracted services for the escalation of support issues.
  • Experience with application deployment technologies and methods of application packaging would be advantageous
  • Experience in providing user/customer support to diagnose and resolve desktop support issues.
