Randstad is seeking an APS 6 Digital Publisher (Web) to commence work immediately.

The full-time position is located in Canberra and available for immediate start for a period of up to 6 months.

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Engagement, the Digital Producer (Web) will play a critical role in managing the Government department’s online presence and shaping its future direction and will be responsible for the organisational website, microsites, intranet and third-party platforms featuring Museum content.

Under the broad supervision of the Manager, Digital Engagement, the Digital Producer (Web) will:

  • Develop, manage and maintain the existing web presence (public-facing sites and intranet) in line with user needs, best practice and Australian Government policies and standards
  • Develop and implement best-practise website analytics standards to regularly monitor and report on website performance using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, SEO and other tools
  • Manage resources, budgets, schedules and priorities to deliver high quality projects that meet corporate and section objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and implement online projects
  • Develop and implement a schedule of iterative website updates to improve user experience and site performance
  • Oversee the maintenance of the agency’s web hosting and backup regime and manage the agency’s web production environment including management of associated contracts
  • Stay informed on current digital trends, topics, and technology, and identify opportunities applicable to the department.
  • Provide training and support to other staff members in web publishing, SEO, digital technology and products

About you:

The successful candidate will need the following key skills:

  • Prior experience working in a website coordination and production role
  • Audience-focused approach to online projects with experience in interface design, usability and accessibility
  • Proactive attitude and good client relationship skills are essential
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to creatively solve problems and work with a high degree of flexibility
  • Highly developed organisational and administrative skills with demonstrated experience in project management ensuring attention to detail, while managing competing priorities and deadlines in a high pressure environment and working within budget
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Intermediate HTML and CSS proficiency, experience with content management systems and Dreamweaver (or similar) desirable.

A Baseline security clearance is needed for this role.
