Director, Strategic Risk and Reporting - $77 p/h – 3 year contract


Part of the branch leadership team, you will lead the strategic risk and reporting team supporting the business and partners to capture opportunities and prevent, detect and respond to threats. You will be working for a company whose priority is to ensure people with a disability continue to get the support they need.

The Role

Leading and managing a team with responsibilities for delivering the Agency’s objectives for strategic risk, with a focus on partnership and support across the Agency’s divisions and/or regional sites and close alignment with the enterprise risk management framework;

Providing input into the Agency’s risk management strategy, contributing to consistent implementation of risk management policy and procedures and positive risk culture within the Agency;

Providing high quality advice and insight to the Branch Manager, General Manager and Chief Risk Officer regarding the effectiveness of the Agency’s strategic risk management framework;

Monitoring and analysing strategic risks, including risk appetite and tolerance settings, and risk treatment plans used to minimise potential exposure and harness opportunities;

Providing strategic risk reporting to the Chief Risk Officer for the Executive and the Board’s Audit and Risk committees;

Providing leadership and management for the team by relating work activities to the Agency’s values, monitoring performance, providing timely and constructive feedback and facilitating staff development;

Managing relevant elements of the branch business plan and budget allocations to ensure that expenditure meets all appropriate governance standards and is kept within budget limits.


  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
  • Significant experience as a risk management practitioner
  • Strong strategic focus
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Significant experience in development and application of risk related plans, policies, procedures and training across a widely dispersed network
  • Team player with ability to build relationships
  • Adaptable to a quickly changing environment
