Disability Support Worker | Glenroy

About The Role

As a Support Worker, you will deliver a variety of services to customers to support them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community. You will provide assistance with all aspects of daily living including meals, personal care, domestic activities, social and community participation and varying skill development activities. This is a hands-on role, suitable for active individuals who can perform manual handling duties.

There will be an expectation that you will accept additional shifts as required by participants and the service.

The right person is someone that can work flexible hours in line with business & individual requirements, has lots of energy and is driven to provide the best quality support to each client.

You will demonstrate the following:

  • A commitment to person centred approaches, and to supporting inclusion and participation
  • An ability to build and manage friendly relationships within a team environment
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
  • An ability to prioritise, to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • The availability to work across shift types, including early morning (6.30am-9.30am), afternoon, evening, weekends and sleepovers.


To be considered for this role, you must provide the following:

  • Satisfactory National Police Check for ‘Employment in Disability’ (issued within the last 6 months)
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Complete Drivers Licence Declaration Form
  • Proof of working rights – in the form of an Australian Passport, Citizenship Certificate or Birth Certificate
  • Two satisfactory professional reference checks
