job description

  • General understanding of technology activities and project lifecycles in a corporate context . Ability to work in a fastpaced commerical environment which constantly changes.

  • Liaise with others both in executive support roles and generally across the business to ensure co-ordination and scheduling of activities so as not to conflict with activities elsewhere in the business
  • Keep up to date with systems, policies and procedures and have the ability to assist others
  • Other ad hoc administrative duties to support the GM Group Technology Leadership Team as required.
  • Act as Executive Assistant for CIO when permanent incumbent is away or on leave.

SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB

Technical

  • At least 5 years previous experience as Personal / Executive Assistant / Administrative Support in a information technology business or function
  • Strong computer skills, in particular extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to use and manage basic financial data
  • Approachable, welcoming and team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks -
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates highly efficient work practices
  • General understanding of technology activities and project lifecycles in a corporate context (perhaps developed via experience working as part of or with a Project Management Office for a major project)
