Our client, a leading food services provider requires a hands on operator to join a challenging and exciting environment.

The purpose of the role is to assist in the development and implementation of an effective employee relations program that is focused on the companies employee engagement and the achievement of business objectives.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Provide advice to managers on all aspects of employment legislation, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBA) company policies and procedures, contracts of employment, counselling and disciplinary processes;
  • Conduct reviews of policies and procedures and make recommendations to ensure they are aligned with legislative requirements and business needs;
  • Provide support in the EBA negotiation process;
  • Resolution of employee issues, including conducting workplace investigations, managing grievances, claims, workers compensation matters and other disciplinary matters;
  • Provide support in the preparation of company cases referred to external tribunals;
  • Maintain branch EBA guides to ensure appropriate interpretation and focus on productivity and efficiency gains;
  • Assist in the development and delivery of employee relations training activities;
  • Other employee relations administrative duties as required.

To be successful you must:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employee Relations or a similar field;
  • Relevant experience in an Employee Relations advisory role, including dealing with unions and undertaking workplace investigations/dispute resolution;
  • Proven knowledge of ER/IR legislation;
  • Hands on approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a lean HR environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong organisation and time management skills;
  • Proven problem-solving skills;
  • High level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
