Four exciting and new created roles have become available and we are looking for suitable Engineering Managers to fulfil the team.

The Engineering Manager reports to the Project Director and is wholly embedded into a project delivery team as apart of the matrix structure. The role is responsible to engage with alliance parties to influence as well as assist various stakeholders to deliver the organisations program.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Extraction of information from key stakeholders on the state of existing conditions and network configuration
  • Oversee all aspects of the engineering process including scope definition, design and Project Requirement Specification development, ensuring that project objectives are achieved within the design and cost parameters established in the business case.
  • Lead technical interpretation of stakeholder standards and requirements
  • Lead and provide expert advice to the Project Directors and Project Managers on complex engineering issues arising form and impacted on the projects, including the identification and managed of RAIDO (Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and Opportunities)
  • Produce and/or contribute to project reports and briefs for senior management to advise and provide options for strategic decision-making regarding overall engineering design and delivery
  • Review of detailed design management procedures and processes by Alliances including design budgets, programs, and management plans
  • Identify and manage external technical expertise needed to inform the design of project delivery phase
  • Support and report on the package progress/schedule, key discipline issues and assessment of processes, plans and overall quality of engineering activities
  • Extraction of continuous improvement initiatives for broader Program application



Furthermore, we are seeking applicants with a specific skillset and working experience, to include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Science-related discipline is mandatory
  • Significant experienced in the planning, functional design and design delivery of complex rail/road projects, ideally in a multiple stakeholder environment
  • Strong technical expertise in rail design and design management
  • Demonstrated understanding of design and engineering issues through all phases of construction project life cycle
  • Extensive experience in private sector with some exposure to various levels of government in relation to infrastructure delivery
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record guiding and motivation others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build collaborative and productive relationships with the executives, colleagues, stakeholders and employees.
  • Strong written and presentations skills including demonstrated ability to skilfully communicate complex information and issues to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate strategically in a complex operating environment
