Primary Purpose of Position

The position will lead the team responsible for production support of enterprise applications delivered to the Organisation. This includes a variety of applications.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing any production impacting issues and working with the relevant teams to resolve as quickly as possible
  • Provide a high level of customer focus (internally and externally) with due care and attention to customer priority issues and appropriate levels of communications
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive efficiencies in a cost-effective manner to solve problems and enhance services. Disseminate this knowledge to clients within the organisation and with peers from other leading organisations for collaboration and benchmarking purposes/opportunities.
  • Provide a high level of technical knowledge within the team to ensure timely turnaround time on issues and ability of the team members to resolve issues independently.
  • Overall management of the employees ensuring direct reports receive coaching, mentoring and guidance including performance management, recruitment and the setting of key objectives and performance indicators
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Enterprise Applications Support to implement key metrics and regularly evaluate their value to ensure appropriate standards of quality, timeliness and effectiveness are met
  • Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of all official data extracts, reports and statistics required to comply with legislative and/or external agencies’ specifications
  • Other duties within the scope of the classification and within the limits of their skill, competence and training

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications and training equivalent to a postgraduate degree in IT or related field or significant progress towards such qualifications, and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proven experience in the management and leadership of teams of information technology personnel including all aspects of service management, and staff performance and development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including a proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff across multiple disciplines
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to distil complex information to fundamental concepts, and to work collaboratively to resolve issues and achieve results
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong positive relationships with team members, internal and external contacts and customers encouraging mutual respect, cooperation and collaboration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of equity and diversity principles
  • Well-developed written and verbal diplomatic communication skills
  • Ability to implement a continuous improvement regime
