Our client, a NSW Government Department require the skills of a talented Communications and Events Coordinator for an initial 6 month period. The primary purpose of the role is to deliver the Department's marketing and communications strategy to promote the policy priorities of the Department to inform and influence the community and uphold the Department’s reputation among key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement and coordinate communications activities to support organisation policy and operational priorities and to communicate key messages relating to initiatives and service delivery
  • Deliver communications projects including developing logistics, budgets, resource and project plans, and reporting to enable the efficient and effective communication of developments and information to the community
  • Plan and coordinate a range of events
  • Draft a range of communications content and materials to provide quality, accurate and relevant information to stakeholders
  • Undertake research and analysis to inform the development of communications strategies, including the identification of key target audiences for communications programs
  • Prepare a range of data for managers and other key stakeholders, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers that are timely, accurate and relevant
  • Review and draft information for the Department's multiple external websites to keep stakeholders up–to-date with developments and provide comprehensive information on the Department’s operations and services
  • Provide advice and technical support across Ministerial and Communications Services on the communications aspects of campaigns and programs.

Key Requirements:

  • Sound experience in management of marketing/communications initiatives
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
