The role and ideal candidate

The role will require you to work within strict timelines in challenging and difficult circumstances, and you will be required too adapt to changing environments. The company has had a change in structure and they are looking for a Project Manager/ Contract Administrator to come in and develop their team organically and hit the ground running. You will be working on 2 jobs+ dependant on the size. This role is for someone who can think ahead, problem solve, likes to work independently and has a strong eye for detail.

If you are currently working for a smaller business and wanting to progress within your career into a Senior Project Manager this role could be for you. The ideal candidate would have 2-3 years experience/ trade background and have knowledge in Buildlogic software.

Responsibilities of the Junior Project Manager

Reporting to the operations manager you will

  • Deliver projects from $250k - $3million in value
  • Liaise closely with clients and head contractors
  • Provide leadership in time, cost, quality, communications and project scope
  • Chair and manage meetings to achieve project deliverables
  • Manage stakeholders
  • Client facing
  • Problem solution
  • Provide a strong commercial focus
  • Ensure the project plan is established and on track.
  • Attend customer meetings during construction
  • Compile and present monthly project cost reports.

Skills required for the Junior Project Manager Role:

  • High level of planning and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate high level of negotiating skills
  • Record of liaising with clients and head contractors
  • Track record of applying PM principles
  • Understand budgets and control of budgets
  • Record of dealing with high end specification projects
  • Excellent communication and working in team environment skills
