We are currently recruiting an Asset Engineer with Civil or Mechanical experience for an electrical utility in South Australia. This role will focus solely on the distribution network in Adelaide’s CBD and will commence as a long-term casual contract. This position is open to graduates and experienced engineers; hourly rates will be reflective the experience you offer.

The primary purpose of this role is to actively participate in the timely delivery of rectification and reliability maintenance and project initiatives in the CBD associated with distribution assets including manholes, ducting network and operational sites. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Initiating planned and unplanned inspections of CBD distribution assets and operational work sites via SAO asset management system
  • Reviewing inspection data for CBD distribution asset and operational sites and preparing works notifications for higher priority maintenance and rectification works
  • Identify and initiate rectification and renewal projects where existing underground distribution assets and operational sites do not meet asset condition, operational or safety standards.
    • Coordinate required works with other current and planned projects
  • Maintain the SAP Asset registry
  • Carry out occasional site inspections
  • Participate in review and enhancements to SAP and other asset or operational business systems
  • Prepare quarterly CBD committee reports
  • Participate in the review of safe work practices

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Up to 5 years in engineering/technical, project engineering or asset management role
  • Current SA Driver’s Licence
  • Excellent communication skills – Written and Oral
  • High level of organisational and prioritising skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate in MS Word and Excel
  • Exposure across SAP – desirable
  • MUST reside and hold full working rights in Australia
