This business provides specialised services across Australia. Their workforce is diverse, ranging from customer service professionals through to specialist engineers, corporate functions, operators and technical staff. The employees of this organisation are fundamental to business success, and as such the role of the HR team is to ensure the frameworks and operations are in place to facilitate continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Reporting to the GM of Human Resources, this role will see you lead a team of 2 remotely dispersed HR Advisors and join a team of peers nationally to provide full function HR support to the business. Initially this role will be for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave. The role will call upon the expertise of a generalist HR Manager with the ability to business partner with the executive team whilst being willing to roll up your sleeves and work through operational requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promote a collaborative culture where staff are engaged, working towards shared goals.
  • Working with senior business leaders in a HR Partnering capacity, providing advice and counsel to multi functional leaders.
  • Develop people management capability within your client group
  • Working across a multi-site environment, providing support and advice for HR issues and practices
  • Providing leadership and direction to a small, regional HR team
  • Providing advice in the ER and IR space, interpreting awards and other industrial instruments.
  • Case management of grievances and disciplinary issues
  • Managing various projects that may arise during your tenure
  • Interacting with the OH&S team to ensure best practice is adhered to across the business.
  • Regular national travel to sites to assist in HR matters and executive forums / meetings
  • Recruitment for Corporate / head office and senior operational roles
  • Interact and providing reporting information with divisional contacts in the US

You will be a high energy individual, capable of planning and delivering on objectives in a commercial environment. Your understanding and confidence in HR systems and processes will assist you with the development and implementation of contemporary HR practices.

You will have substantial HR Management experience backed by appropriate tertiary qualifications. You will enjoy leveraging outcomes and building relationships at a leadership level, but will also be grounded enough to deal with all manner of operational issue. Previous experience in a matrix style organisation, supporting cross functional business units would be highly advantageous, as would experience in the mining or heavy industry.
