The client -

Has been operating in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide for over 40 years and is a leader in manufacturing residential and commercial heating and cooling products. Due to the continuous growth of the business they are seeking a motivated and self driven individual to take ownership of this newly appointed role. An extremely competitive remuneration package is on offer based on experience and suitability.

The role -

The Inventory Controller is accountable for providing accurate and reliable information to the business on the total inventory control function, including but not limited to ensuring all stock is checked and booked in to the system upon arrival on site. Other responsibilities to be performed are listed below.

  • Ensure that all aspects of OHS and welfare, workers rehabilitation and compensation legislation are followed.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the company’s Equal Employment Opportunity Policies are supported.
  • To manage the inventory control function with the intention to substantially reduce costs in line with agreed targets.
  • To manage the procurement of goods and services for the company in line with established policy.
  • To manage the negotiation, selection and operation of selection of freight and handling organisations.
  • Review pronto exception reports, KPI reports and Maintain high level of inventory accuracy in Pronto.
  • Support and initiate continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure strict regulation of the warehouse for inventory control.
  • Developing process improvements for inventory control, inventory systems and inventory tracking.
  • Participate in the business decision-making process through active membership of the Manufacturing Leadership Team.
  • To continually review all aspects of production scheduling, manufacturing and marketing to ensure the correct targets are set and achieved.
  • Help to load/unload containers and trucks as required.

The candidate -

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Formal qualification such as a Diploma or Certificate relating to logistics or warehousing.
  • Forklift license.
  • Keen analytical mind.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Experience and training in purchasing or logistics management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of planning, logistics and warehousing.
