About the role:

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager. To be successful you will have in-depth knowledge of manufacturing business principles including, strategic leadership, supply chain, quality control and have a passion for innovation within the manufacturing industry. The ideal person is someone that posses the ability to develop, plan, organise and direct operational functions to meet business objectives

Reporting to the General Manager the successful candidate will be able to display their leadership/management skills, ability to create a great workplace culture of inclusion, listening and team work and understand creating a safe working environment for all team members

About you:

  • Ability to think laterally to resolve problems and to mentor others in solving their problems
  • Create/prepare reports for business stakeholders
  • Experienced in operating in a constantly changing environment and the ability to influence change in such environments
  • Planning of production engineering inline with Understands and champions a safe working environment
  • Previous successful experience in a Operational Manager role
  • Proven skills as a leader that creates partnerships with their staff
  • Innovative and solution based “Doer”
  • History of exceeding expected service and budgeted results
  • Excellent commercial, interpersonal, change management and communication skills
  • Understands what it takes to be successful in the Manufacturing industry and have real world examples that can be shared and demonstrated to the client

Skills and experience:

  • Leading the safety culture by modelling safe behaviour; engaging people to work safely and productively and holding them accountable to standards
  • Maximising the people resource by defining challenging yet achievable production schedules and distributing labour across the operation to meet these requirements Minimising maintenance downtime by planning to prevent failure and breakdown of equipment
  • Compiling key data against KPI’s and discussing with relevant parties
  • Controlling manufacturing and despatch/receivable processes to ensure material labour and other expenses are kept in line with budgets and to ensure compliance with the company’s quality management system
  • Managing the people resource to ensure an engaged workforce which contributes best efforts to the business
  • Managing manufacturing functions to ensure compliance with Fair Work Act, OHS regulations and State and Federal laws
  • Managing the environmental aspects of the operation by ensuring Licenses and Compliances are up to date
  • Focusing on continual improvement in production processes to lower costs and improve lead times through initiatives of Lean principles and managing the associated changes
  • Contributing as an active member of Management Team by generating ideas and opportunities for the business, identifying risks and helping resolve business issues and problems
