A very well paid Payroll Officer position has become available working for a government organisation in the CBD. We’re looking for an experienced officer to join the team of 3, to process the payroll for 500 employees. The position is a 6 month fixed term contract, with the view to go permanent.

As a Payroll Officer, reporting to the HR/OPS Manager, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Processing and co-ordinating payroll for 500 employees using Technology One
  • Ensure third party payments such as tax instalments, superannuation funds, wage deductions, and employee benefits are reconciled and paid accurately and timely.
  • Interpret contracts, EAs and awards to calculate the payroll accordingly.
  • Create and maintain accurate employee details as well as terminations and leave, in accordance with Company agreements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of projects.
  • Liase with staff about any queries they may have in regards to payroll.

A successful applicant will be someone who:

  • Has experience processing end to end payroll,
  • Knowledge of working with EBAs and Awards,
  • Has Technology One experience, this is not essential but desirable
  • Exceptional communication skills
