The role

As the Policy Secretariat Officer you will provide governance and secretariat support to the Committee.You will have experience liaising with medical professionals and have the ability to manage complex relationships while driving the department’s work plan and delivery outcomes.

It is crucial that you have strong comprehension and writing skills as you will be expected to deliver work within a fast paced environment. Maintain awareness the sensitivities of operating in a public service environment with a high public profile to ensure tact and diplomacy at all times. You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive policy experience.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • An understanding of medical terminology and practices

  • High-level written communication skills including ability to produce high quality correspondence, briefings and reports

  • Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with committee members

  • Ability to learn quickly on the job

An understanding of government policy and implementation, and also a strong understanding of the health sector essential
