This boutique engineering consultancy support public and private sector clients in the design, implementation and ongoing support of best practice risk management and project controls. We specialise in public transport and major infrastructure projects.

They are seeking a highly motivated, passionate project controls professional with quality experience to join our new and innovative management consulting practice.

This key role will typically be responsible for program control leadership and coordination, strategic program and performance reporting and financial reporting to ensure the effective implementation, delivery and management of the program control function.

In addition, the Project Controls Manager will:

  • Lead and coordinate the project controls function to ensure effective management of risk, schedule, cost, change control and document management.
  • Ensure efficient and effective monitoring and management of the various project controls activities and associated compliance obligations.
  • Manage reporting on behalf of the project controls function for risk, schedule, capital cost and change control to inform executive management.
  • Monitor capital cost and expenditure through the delivery of budget forecasts and accruals to contribute to the effective financial management of the project control function.
  • Oversee the coordination of the master schedule and facilitate inputs to various key project reports.
  • Coordinate assurance activities at key milestones including internal and external peer review of key project deliverables.

The ideal candidate will:

  • possess a strong track record of achievement in the development, implementation and leadership of project controls on major infrastructure projects and project delivery organisations;
  • hold Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline;
  • possess 5-10 years experience in major project delivery, transport infrastructure development, and/or consulting engineering environments;
  • have outstanding presentation and communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to interact confidently with all levels of management to implement effective systems and improvements thereof;
  • have knowledge of ISO 31000 and a sound understanding of risk management fundamentals;
  • have strong project management, analytical and technical skills and ability to develop creative approaches and systems that will create value-adding solutions to clients;
  • be a highly driven, autonomous, and resilient team player with a strong work ethic and the capacity to interact effectively with a large range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • enjoy working in a dynamic, innovative and fast paced environment with the ability to adapt quickly to a variety of client engagements.
