job description

Role –

We are currently seeking an experienced project coordinator to complete a 6 month temporary contract within a government organisation. The purpose of this position is to undertake a range of project research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects, in line with established project plans and objectives.

Duties

  • Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans
  • Update and collate documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to ensure the delivery of projects complies with agreed project management methodology
  • Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning
  • Assist the Corporate Services division to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate business unit groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information, provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues.
  • Provide a range of secretarial and administrative services, including coordinating project team meetings and preparing papers, to support project management delivery.
  • Monitor progress and regularly update project processes as required to deliver project outcomes and financial targets.

Ideal Candidate –

The ideal candidate would possess extensive knowledge across the government space, having an extremely strong understanding of the policies, procedures and systems associated to effectively oversee the development and implementation of large scale projects. You must have the ability to provide leadership to a team, ensuring there is strong strategic coordination with clear direction and projected outcomes. You must have experience providing a high degree of communication to the appropriate stakeholders, including reporting to senior management on the project timeline and tracking process, day to day management reporting and team direction in a clear and consistent manner.
